Eco-labels for tires

All tires manufactured since next 1st of July must have the new label which aims to increase energy security, environmental and economic efficiency of road transport, as it was explained by the director of institutional relations of Michelin, Hugo Ureta during the presentation of the labeling process in the company.

The law was officially approved last November and will affect cars, commercial vehicles, 4x4, trucks, buses.

The type label for each type of tire is determined on the basis of three parameters: energy efficiency, security and external rolling noise. Manufacturers will be responsible for declaring the parameters of the products and then the appropriate authorities measured the data to make sure its applied efficently .
